The Trance State Techniques

Uses: Divination, Astral Projection, Dimensional Higher World Projection, Spiritual Vision, Connection to Super Consciousness

The trance state is a shift where consciousness is freed(or how we perceive it) from the earthly plane, it’s a detachment from the physical, the level of trance can be thought of as a percentage between 1-100, 100% being the point at which all senses are detached and consciousness is shifted to where you desire.  My personal preference in meditation at the moment is around a 80/20 split where I am in the physical body around 20%.  This feels very workable for me.  You may want to aim higher or lower depending on how you feel.  To accept the trance state in a safe manner we should accept that this is a gift from the Divine and always aim to shift to a higher state and everything should be perceived to be “higher”


Techniques in Meditation to Achieve & Deepen the Trance State

Always open and expand the 7 main chakras at the beginning of your meditation, once opened refocus on the root and crown chakra, expand both chakras fully and make a connection downwards to mother earth and make a connection upwards to cosmic consciousness.  Feel this connection as an infinite connection above and below and see the spinal column connecting both chakras.  Extend the spinal column(energetically) above and below and feel the energy coming in and exchanging through the body.  This technique will kick start the trance state, always feeling expansion, expansion is really important.

Use the breath to move the energy, deep slow rhythmic breathing is key.  Once the trance state has kicked in you can contract your energy internally(very subtly) on the inhale and then expand it out at every angle to the universe on the exhale.  The contracting part of it should just feel like an internal hold of your energy, the energy can be breathed in from the earth and cosmos using technique 1 and then contracted(held) at the top of the breath and then released and expanded on the out breath.   It’s this expansion that deepens the trance state, so please pay focused attention to this expansion and let go of the physical.  You can also watch the subtle gap between the breath for Divine clarity and you can also add in the “OM” mantra to the expansion part of the meditation.


  • Purification of the Pancha Kosha is another technique that deepens the trance state.  The five bodies are as follows:

  • Annamaya Kosha – Physical body – Cells, tissues, bone, marrow, nerves,
  • body system

  • Pranamaya Kosha – Vital energy body – Breath, aura, chakras, nadis,
  • Manomaya Kosha – Mental body – Thoughts, feelings, emotions
  • Vignanamaya Kosha – Higher mind – Intellect, values, beliefs, inner voice
  • Anandamaya Kosha – Bliss body – Bliss, pure happiness

  • Using the expansion technique 2 you can purify the 5 bodies with your sense of awareness and using a mantra.  Locate the Vital, Mental, Higher Mind & Bliss body with the exhale into the expanded state, you can add in the mantra “OM Shanti” to bring cosmic peace which will again deepen the trance state.
