It is the energy centre that governs our ability to give and receive love, to feel connected and empathetic towards others and ourself, and to experience emotional balance.

The breath is the bridge between the physical and spiritual dimensions, the breath moves energy.
Loving-kindness meditation: Begin by directing loving-kindness towards yourself. Silently repeat phrases like 'May I be happy, may I be healthy, may I be at peace.' Then, extend this loving-kindness to others, visualizing them surrounded by love and well-being.
Chakra visualization: Imagine a vibrant green light in the centre of your chest, at the location of your heart chakra. Visualize this light growing brighter and expanding, filling your entire body with healing energy. As you do this, affirm to yourself, 'My heart is open, and I am worthy of love.'
